The Internet Archives
I've been browsing the Archive's for a few years now, primarily and almost totally their old (out of copyright) films and t.v. shows. Want to see old Buster Keaton? Fatty Arbuckle? The ORIGINAL Fast and Furious (50's)? Pre-code Hollywood? Like Film Noire? This is the place! Out of print and rare books? Yep, they have them too. Every Grateful Dead concert ever (it seems ) plus old radio shows? (think Colgate hour etc.) Some of the funniest cartoons ever? (Caution, most but not all of the cartoons were "retired" and let lapse into the public domain because of racist stereotypes, but think Tex Avery, Walter Lantz). Did you know Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble shilled for Camel cigarettes? You could literally spend years in this place just browsing! Anyway, as much as I've been here over the years, and they add new things constantly, I've recently "discovered" their software collection. Feel like some really retro gaming? They have you covered! Want to see what an old (2004) Tucows mirror site had? Linux distros from the beginning of open source, old manuals and computer magazines are just some of the wonders here. All downloadable and totally free! If you have an interest in history, films, T.V., music and other things too numerous to mention I wholeheartedly recommend this place. You won't be sorry you went
