I love this thread. I had a few good laughs.

It shows that you can stay out of trouble if take good care of your system and avoid stupid moves.
Yes, yes; in my opinion most problems are caused by the users of the computing system.
With a small amount of time and effort one can learn to use a computer in a much safer and enjoyable fashion. It seem to be the non learning crowd is getting bigger with the figure print crowd.

if you need problems..i can sell you a Series 1 landrover
lol++ but no thanks... (4wd > ref. to my trusted Toyota LC120).
Im with ya on this one. I would take a Toyota any day over a Land Rover. As nice as they may be; Land Rover's require too much "attention" and servicing needs; whereas Toyota's take a licking but keep on ticking. They just keep going and going and going sorta like a timex watch does lol. I know of someone that has a 85 toyota pickup(dont know what model exactly) and it had 500,000 miles (U.S.) on at at the time and it was still going! certainly cant knock that!

As yo say Toyotas do jsut keep going..mine is an 82..Landcruiser......but the advantage with a landrove si you can treat them far rougher and not worry if you dent or rip a panel...they just unbolt and you can bolt a new one back on. No body shop required !

A solution would be to respond to the next "Microsoft support" phone call from a foreign speaking person that will tell you that you have lots of viri on your system and to let them clean it up by remote. Should keep you busy for a while.

I responded to one of those once. I was bored.

Wasted a load of their time trying various things... Pretending not to ba able to find the Start button etc.
Then I asked them if their instructions were really relevant to the Apple Mac OS-X and told him I had been deliberately wasting his time.

Done the same recently with someone trying to sell new boiler system and also one of these 'You may be been mis sold PP INSURANCE " calls. You can ask as often as you want for them to remove your phone number from their list, and it does not work. Waste their time a few times and it is amazing how quick these nuiscance phone calls dry up.

Speaking of that, I just this morning have an e-mail from a "Microsoft Official Partner", offering me a FREE scan of my system! It says its URGENT too, so it MUST be real because urgent is in a RED huge font!

Update: have run a collection of optimizers and regcleaners. Great progress: takes 23 minutes to boot, lost half the keyboard, screen is black & white, temp is 98 deg c, lost audio, & constant 100% disk activity. And btw, got a nice message about windows not being genuine.

But can still connect to the net, so some work still need to be done: next will be to download lots of warez and cracks, and visit illegal p* sites from Russia. That should do it.

Yep, my T is in too nice condition (usually one does not complain about that!), got to take care and keep tight control over any fun.
