Today's kids sure could take a lesson from that. The only problem is that today's parents allowed it to happen to today's kids.

    Very good video Gary.
I lived through the same and lived.
Where I live now the big BAD thing in schools is bullies.
We had bullies when I was young and we (I) took care of them.
I graduated from High School weighing under a 100 lbs. I have been small all my life. It didn't take long for other students to know that you won't bully Jack or you will have a price to pay. I'm still fond of hickory sticks. Kids were kids and in most cases kids took care of kids. Kids in those days never wanted to stay inside. Their was always something to do outside. All my mother would say when we were in the house to long was (go out side and play and don't let the door slam). We knew to be back on time for supper. None of us had a watch and of course their was no such thing as a cell phone but somehow we could tell when it was time to stop what we were doing and get home for supper.
If their was child predators I never heard of them as a child.
All I was told not to do is hitch hike but I did it anyway with no problems. A child predators in those days would of never made it to a court room and nothing would of been said of it.
A child was allowed to be a child. We studied, played, and sometimes we fought with each other and somehow we survived. We helped each other with chores so we could go outside and play sooner.
In those day the government didn't raise your child. It wasn't the governments job or business to do so.
The schools didn't raise your children. They tought them the 3 "R" not sex education. Thats the parents job.
The parents raised their children. They didn't want or ask the government, schools, churches or other groups to raise their children. Those organizations had their jobs to do but one of them wasn't raising children.

    The BULLY Project

It wasn't but about a month ago on the news that a girl child killed herself because she was bullied on line by another student in her school.
My first thoughts were what kind of parents would raise a child to think this is the way you handle being bullied.
Where is the Hell were the parents and what were they teaching her before she did such a sad thing.

Parents please take the time to be parents! Not just somebody that has kids.
In the years to come your children will thank you.

Not much of a chill out but I hope it helps a child somewhere.

It's a different world today for sure. Tell a kid to go outside, they ask why.

If I would of asked why. I would of got all the why I needed on my back side. When kids were told to do something they did it. Normally in the process of doing what was asked you figured out the why part.

Tech made them lazy is my guess. Why pay attention to your child if the schools and a TV or game will do it?

my teenagers use computers and are very tech minded, its a sign of the times.
they also ride bikes, skateboard, tinker with engines, strip down pushbikes, surf, work and study

they think old people think they are lazy and afraid to go outdoors. thats old people for you, fortunately not all us oldies are of the same mindset

in addition to this, the number of killers , pedo's , rapists etc have grown considerably since we were kids years ago, but the youth of today where i live still go for it. the beaches are full of kids who surf and go outside just like we did
    maybe its a cultural thing.
