If any problems do happen, I'll just post a new thread in the Hardware forum.

I cheat. I have a UPS that, should the power fail, is set to give me five minutes to decide what to do before it starts hibernating my computer. If I, say, have ten or fifteen minutes left to finish a task, I can get into the UPS' power settings and reset it to allow me to keep working. Right now, I have an estimated 116 minutes run time. If what I'm doing is working the CPU or GPU harder than usual, I would have less runtime but still have plenty of time to wrap things up, then manually shut down. If I'm busy elsewhere, the UPS will just hibernate my computer five minutes after the power goes off. That way, I won't lose any work in progress other than, maybe, downloads. My modems and router are in a different room. One of these days, I need to get a smaller UPS for them.

Just woke up. The power is back and I will try turning on my computer later.

Will my computer automatically restart after power comes back after a blackout? If so, should I plug it out?
If you are talking about your DELL - then the answer is maybe.

It depends on how BIOS is set. From what I've seen, if BIOS offers to power up the computer once power is restored, that option is typically not turned on by default.

Dell desktops typically have BIOS settings that allow you to have the computer automatically come on when power is restored and they can also be set to turn the computer on at a certain time of the day.
I just turned my surge protector back on and the computer did not turn on automatically.

It is probably best to keep the BIOS settings that way. If the power source ever went off/on/off several times in one minute, you probably don't want a computer coming back up only to have it shut down while it was starting.
