UK Viewers -- Farewell MGM HD Channel (SKY ch 313) You'll be missed

    Hi there

Seems these days anything remotely good is destined for the scrapheap. One of the best Movie channels around ANYWHERE was the MGM HD channel (ch 313) on the SKY TV system. Really great classic movies with NO COMMERCIAL BREAKS during the movies.

Sadly this channel closed down this week -- probably to be replaced by yet another mindless drivelly "Reality TV" channel -- or as you are now supposed to call it these days "Observational Documentary show" !!! -- who on earth dreams up these names !!!.

MGM had some of the best movies to be seen anywhere -- especially now that TNT (used to be a good channel too) only shows westerns these days. I haven't seen any decent MODERN film for a long time now -- no storyline and just full of special effects and gizmos designed to appeal to people under 18.

Hopefully some of the MGM movies will be seen on other channels but it will be hard to find them instead of being able to see some of the best films ever produced on its own dedicated channel.

Sadly in the modern world there doesn't seem to be too much of a place for quality any more.

Anyway Channel 313 -- RIP. Thanks for a few years of great movies before going off to that great channel yonder.

    Cheers

Never even looked at it, mind you we don't have the movie pack or the sport pack, not paying for something we wont watch.
