All hail the monopolies.
owning a TV/movie company seems like it would be a conflict of interests for a cable provider and/or internet isp. They are supposed to play movies and TV shows from every other company, but they would have no incentive to give fair play/time to other studios.

title should read 'Acquire', not 'Acquite'.. how does one change a thread title?
I saw on TV last night that the average cable bill is $138.
Any of you folks pay that much?
My last cable bill in 2000 was $13.
I would try satellite if our apartments allowed it, there's really only two other options where I live, ATT or a local fairly recent newcomer in the market.
I would look into that. I believe there's a federal law stating landlords must allow you to install access to competition or provide a means to do so or some such. I'm working off old memory but it may be worth looking into. The law was passed around 1995 or so. It was specifically aimed at apartment owners that restricted antenna use but included satellite, cable and local broadcasts.
Thanks Ken, I will look into that, right now as a matter of fact.
Edit: Found it,
