    No No!

You imply Ranger that the grammatical context was incorrect which is not the case.

Consider this sentence as grammatically correct when using Whose; "a man whose power has greatly eroded." .

My quote was to offer an amalgamation of the words Who and Is which can be termed plural.

"Who's (Who is) Pauline is grammatically correct.

    :)
Wolfeymole, you are certainly correct in the Who's Pauline context, but as this is a single word association & your reply was 2 words, I just used Whose to get the double word usage back to a single associated word, that came close. So it's not a grammatical error as it's was an attempt to correct the incorrect use of 2 words. So very sorry if this caused you some angst, as it certainly was not intended. :)

I am not offended Ranger but one must see that Whose and Who's are two completely different aspects.

This is the same as ... "The dog has its bone" as against... "It's her fault".

Now I know that this thread is supposed to consist of singular words but then again many words that are separated by a hyphen and mean a single word.

If we are not to offer apostrophes then I shall offer single words in the future.

"Who's" is a contraction for "Who is" whose denotes ownership, "Who's that over there": "It is he whose child it is" or something like that, LOL.
    Other misused and misspelled words:
    There, their, they're
    your, you're
    Have, of
    Class dismissed.
