If someone pressured me regarding what shoes to wear ANYWHERE, I would probably show up wearing tennis shoes or flip-flops just to spite them!

This thread reminded me of the movie "Serial Mom" where the main character kills someone because she was wearing white shoes after Labor day!

    Wear whatever pleases YOU.

Again, it depends on who is doing the pressuring. The family putting on the wedding may have a dress code imposed for wedding guests; a bit tacky but it is their wedding and their money. If so, either the OP needs to respect that dress code or just not go.

Seriously, if some nutjobs would get upset at whether I wore brown or black shoes to their wedding, I would send my regrets that I couldn't attend. Only time it should matter is if I am one of the Groom's men and they wanted all to dress alike.

I'm bettin' 2 to 1 that it's not the bride or groom that's applying "pressure". They would simply request. It's the wife/gf/bf/so.

    Pretty silly request IMHO,
I would skip the wedding if they insisted on something that silly,
Or just send the shoes with someone

Wear what makes you most comfortable, What you think makes you look best and finally what shoes match with your suit:)

I'm in a similar wedding position at the minute, I have a medium length mohawk, and my sister is getting married in May, my family are telling me to shave it off for the wedding out of respect, I have spoken to my sister and her husband to be and they are fine with it so il be keeping it:)!
