The video haunts me just like everything else about this. I was baffled by the hoodie pic appearing in his MVP profile. What was he trying to say or hide? There is a marked change from the pics where he's "in the pink" so I have to wonder if he was ill. Maybe his wife can tell us more about his health condition.

I had encouraged him to go to MVP Global Summit in November since he'd gotten such a kick out of pictures and stories of Rayda's being the life of the party and Karaoke superstar. He said he didn't think he'd be able to go. I didn't press the matter but was thinking about offering some of my miles for him to go since I think he would have enjoyed it and Ray and I would have really enjoyed having another 7F buddy there - especially Gary. I'm still hoping Shawn will go since he'd be treated as royalty by Consumer help MVP's who all speak so highly of him there. He could fly his spaceship.

I'm almost sure he said it was finances that were keeping him from going but I wonder about his health. I realize it's ridiculous to be picking over this now but I still can't get it out of my head. Maybe flying halfway around the world tomorrow will set me upright.
The "hoodie pic" is over 2 years old. Post a picture of you

I always appreciated his honesty and kind feedback,
I believe that's the never talking down to anyone part Bill refers to

Glad you liked the video John please download it from my Onedrive
I get choked up every time I watch it so you can imagine how making it went
If anyone missed it I forget which post it's on ?

Yes it was very moving and yet very eerie to watch. He was helping me out with a basic build at the time of his passing and I cannot bring myself to pull up the mails yet to see again what he advised at the time.
I miss him as much as I do my sister and brother both who passed away at the beginning of this year. Having said that it is comforting to have all you others I know around - it helps me a great deal to know you are all there even if it is in cyber space.

Thanks Keith. It Helps. Bill had asked him in congrats thread why he chose that pic. I didn't realize there was an album's-worth but now see what Mike was working from in his vid.

I had avoided that pics thread because at the time liked keeping the full distance the web affords. Didn't work out too well.

I must say I'm in shock to hear this news. Its the middle of my busiest time of the year so have not been online for awhile. I'm in Valparasio Indiana now and we go to Crown Point next. Both in Gary's "area" and we had been planning/talking about having a movie night at his place. The main reason I got online today (no sleep in 38 hours as I write this) was to confirm and set up a time/date for this. Gary had me do a little research for him awhile back and in the process of that we became very friendly. This news is very saddening for me personally and is a blow to the Forums. Gary's expertise and wide range of knowledge will be missed.

Gary ....... if you can see this, I found out who bought the Calypso! (But it was another dead end.)

I honestly think there is no hidden meaning in Gary's choices of music or pictures. In reading the guestbook, it appears he started feeling bad, called his son to take him to the hospital, and apparently passed before he got there. I can't say he never had an ongoing condition, but I think he wasn't ill, it just happened. The suddenness of it is what makes it all the more shocking. Literally here one minute, and gone the next. He had 2 windows open, one to 7F and one to 8F. It's put many of us in a funk, I notice his absence constantly. To quote Data:

As I experience certain sensory input patterns, my mental pathways become accustomed to them. The input is eventually anticipated, and even missed when absent.

I won't become morose as Gary was a humorous guy, but it has been...difficult.
