Me either, but I will hazard a guess. There are 2 reasons:

    1. 5 is a nice round number that even dummies like me can remember.

    2. It is very difficult to accidentally push the button 5 times in rapid succession.

Obviously withdraws have not set in yet

Derek, I really want you to stop smoking, so if you can just vape with the stuff you have for the next 24 hours then I'll PayPal you $200 to get a decent setup
Damn, I just saw this John. I was giving myself one smoke today and that was a couple hours ago.

I can do 24 hours though, a good wager is always a nice motivator.

    Thanks for the extra motivation.

24 hours and counting, on to 48 hours now...

I was bored, and sitting here mixing up a batch of Eliquid and though .. hmm. maybe I'll make a post about this for those who may at the least be curious what's invoved.
Pretty basic, but a good idea how its done.

I do this alot myself, but I do still buy vendor juices from time to time. Some because I love and can't yet replicate, and other for ideas :)
I find it a lot of fun, and it's cheaper for sure.
I average about a $1 or less per 15ml bottle though it can be a bit costly getting started. And it's not for everyone.
Some come out amazing, some OK, and some horrible. Lots of trial and error.

So to mix your own here what you need:
    1) Nicotine Liquid 2) Propylene Glycol 3)Vegetable Glycerin 4)Flavor Concentrates 5)Mixing supplies

    NIC,VG,PG:
It is very important its PURE, Unflavored and of good quality.
A bad quality VG or PG will give an odd taste to everything. A bad quality Nicotine will make juices taste peppery.
Though there are a few good places, the best Ive found and prefered vendor is Wizard labs for these things. (Everything in fact) Buy only from reputable sources.

    FLAVORING:.
You need to watch here as well. Certain one are not suitable for Vaping.
One of the best IMO is The Flavor Apprentice. Mainly because they have good concentrates and secondly, they know many buy their concentrates for Ejuices and make every effort to note in the description if it contains ingredients questionable for that purpose.
If buying large quantities, buy directly from TFA. For small quantities, Wizard labs is the best deal. Wizard sells TFA in 8ml bottles for $1.50.

The next best concentrate, IMHO is Capellas. I use a mix of both. For example, TFA Strawberyy is very good. But to me Capella is better here. Peanut Butter is close, but IMO TFA is better. YMMV.

    MIXING Supplies:
--Syringes or Pipettes for measuring. I find 3-5ml Syringes to be the best with blunt tip needles. Easy to work with and accurate.
    --Some Empty bottles.
I also picked up a 25ml beaker and a handhel milk frother ($6 at Amazon) for mixing before transfering to the bottle.
The little milk frother is great because with DIY Ejuice, you'll find many flavors need a steep time. basically this just means it has to sit in a cool dark place for 1-14 days or more for the flavors to mature, depending on the flavors used.
FYI, Tobaccos are the worst offenders often needing 3-4 week steep times. Steep time will also vary depending on the complexity of the mix.

By using a milk frother to blend, wait for it to clear and repeat 3 times you significantly reduce the steep time. In many cases, it will be ready to vape right away too. Depends on the flavors. I/E 1 week steep time reduced to 2-3 days with this method. It does work!

Lastly, you need an Ejuice calculator to get the appropriate measurments.
Ejuice Me Up for PC, Ejuice Calculator for Android and Apple iphone has one as well. (Not sure of its name)

Ok, so lets make a Choc. Fudge Brownie Ejuice!!!
The Nicotine solution I have is 100mg. As a note, be very carefull with this stuff. Thats very high concentration and can be harmful. In your recipies you can stray from the measurments with flavorings, but Nicotine is the one thing you MUST be accuarate about.

So in the calculator, I put that my Nicotine solution is 100mg.
In Target Nicotine, this is what you want your Ejuice to be. Im going to go for 12mg here.
Next set the PG/VG ratio. This is what you want you mix to be. Im going with 50PG/50VG.
    Amount to make = 10ml

Now the flavorings. So for the Chocolate Fudge Brownie, we add:
    Chocolate Fudge Brownie (Capella) 6%
    Marshmallow (TFA) 1%
    Sweetner (TFA) 1%
Click Calcuate and we get the recipie.

In the beaker we add the ingredients in the amounts the calculator gave us:
    1.2ml Nicotine (@100mg) // 3ml PG // 5ml VG // 0.6ml Choc Brownie // 0.1ml Marshmallow // 0.1ml Sweetner
Mix well, let settle and mix well again. Good to go. (12-24hr steep is a good idea)
We now have a Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ejuice at 12mg Nic 50/50 blend.

    As an interesting side note:
My calculator keeps track of my inventory and the cost per ml of each item.
It estimates this 10ml bottle I just mixed cost approx. 47 cents to make.

    Couple tips FWIW:
DIY can be frustrating at first. Especially when your mixes come out pretty lackluster. But one you get the hang of it, its a blast.

As a general rule, start of with small batches. 5ml or so.
With Flavoring, more often than not LESS IS MORE. Start with low flavor percentages and work your way up to your preference. Too much can make things taste like perfume, or sometime taste as if it has little to no flavor, odd as that may sound.
Remember, as the juice ages, the flavor profile will change a bit and flavor will get a little better.
But, if a juice is really horrible from the strart it will only improve to bad at best. If the juice is Ok-good, steep time will help make it better.
