I've been experimenting with making my own coffees. I have a Coffee concentrate (essentially a strong black coffee, and a Mocha concentrate.

I mixed a Mocha flavor and a bit of Bavarian cream. It wasn't too bad but got tiring really fast. A bit of a funky aftertaste too. But it was freshly made. Will give it a week in the closet and see what happens.
Also tried the Mocha with a touch of chocolate and a bit of Whipped Cream flavor to see what would happen.
I have several different ideas for this Mocha flavor to see what works best.

It is wierd though how it all ends up tasting. Things you wouldn't think work sometimes just do, and what sounds good sometimes isn't.

With the coffee not sure what to mix with it. Its tasted pretty bad with everything Ive tried, even just straight. But I think this one is just very potent so Im going to try and blend it straight and really weak (like 2% flavor) and give a bit of time to see what happens.

Nighthawk is the Link where you got your Dark Roast from? I was interested in giving them a try but didn't see it listed there. I do want a good coffee or at least ideas on how to make my own thats satisfying and not just bearable.

The sample packs are a good thing. Wish more offered these since they are good for tersting, or buying bulk at a discounts.
Good Life vapor offers those sample packs too. But they start at 10ml per bottle in size.
Decent prices and they have good juices too. (Also where the Deadly Sin comes from. Gotta keep that stuff around :) )

We should have a list of suppliers that offer these packs but also have good juices.

I'm not sure how their juices are, but I just ordered some of what Dude recommended, so we'll see. But they offer samples too at a reasonable price. You can also choose your PG/VG blend as well, which I like. Here's their samples Vape Wild eJuice Sample Pack (60 ml) - Vape Wild

Sample Packs - Good Life Vapor

We should have a list of suppliers that offer these packs but also have good juices.
The mixing I have been trying here on and off has been going on now for a year since the vendor I had the link for sample packs had started up. I simply took some of the existing blends and dripped a few together to get an idea or two for possibles.

Vaper Garden is where I found a larger variety of coffee, tea, and drink flavors since it is rather to find anyone with tea flavors it seems. This particular vendor has several coffee and mocha while others would have either the coffee or black coffee listed. Most vendors with a large enough selection will have catories for each flavor group. Vaper Garden | ecigarette | ego | eliquid | vapor | ecig | ejuice , Coffee, Teas, Drink flavored ecigarette eliquid

That one even has a Red Bull energy drink flavor in the second page there. When ordering a small bottle of each the Dark Roast and Kona coffee flavors the vendor tossed in a small bottle of their expresso. When going back to order the large bottle of the Dark Roast they tossed in a small grape drink. They carry some disposables and a few eGo express battery, usb charging adapter packs but are mainly an ejuice vendor there.

With CCV flavors I was interested in blending one and now a second menthol flavor with some others simply to see how the second and third flavors would be with menthol present. When mentioning to the owner the latest test with some Pioneer (Tombstone tobacco blend with menthol added in) still remaining in the tank and mixed with Mellon Twist (Strawberry/Watermelon) and Timber Frost (Wintergreen/menthol) and that leading to a form of balanced Strawberry almost Mint type vapor he came out with a brand new one, Boardwalk Bliss with a blend of orange, tangerine, sweet cherry, and black cherry flavors with a Koolada mix(makes a flavor taste like you have an ice cold drink with ice cubes in it).

I haven't gotten into the DIY process of ordering the base, menthol, and other flavorings with or without nicotine you can buy separately for making up any of my own custom blends. Back when CCV was first starting up and I was still seeing the last carton or so I mentioned the lack of the tobacco taste being a possible factor for not being able to vape the menthol flavors he first had out which was Artic Ice (Spearmint/Menthol), Yukon (semi-sweet Peppermint with menthol), and Avalanche (A blend of menthols) to be followed afterwards with first Cafe Mint (Peppermint Cappuccino with menthol) and one other being a Banana/Caramel blend with menthol Polar Ape

Of course when going to order the 7 bottle sampler the menthol person would have all these covered since presently there are only the 7 with menthol in them. But when ordering as with most vendors that brew their own stuff at least you can specify either no menthol or may even be able to see menthol added in if you ask for that. This is mainly seen with those who do actually blend and mix up their own for online sales mainly over the prepackaged or already bottled up stuff at a local vape shop since those people have plenty of time still before stuff gets shipped out.

A list of vendors who offer sample packs certainly wouldn't hurt while I have found while ordering hardwares many will often toss in a small bottle of what they carry or you have the option to pick and choose a flavor or two depending on what the hardware is like a variable box mod. Some toss in actual candy like a tiny bag of Gummy Bear or lately one toss a lollipop in on the first order. That happened to be at one who's owner belongs to one of the smoke free advocacy groups I noticed while ordering.

I'm starting to notice with myself that there is a flavor chase, not sure why really, cigarettes only had the same taste over and over, I guess that's just part of the experience.

Only about 3 or 4 I've noticed actually give me a constant (although mild) flavor throughout the day, it might just be me though.

I get that way a bit faster from having sampled just about everything when one vendor was first starting up as well as all the new ones added to what I get from other places. Since I was a menthol smoker with one brand of cigs(the one with the strongest menthol flavor) at first it was trying to get into vaping with stuff other then menthol when the menthol lacked the tobacco taste you get from smoking! That was one thing I had pointed out when that vendor made the then new tobacco menthol blend when explaining that part was lacking.

It kind of reminds me of trying to get into pipe smoking decades back with the severe allergies needing the menthol I came to back to in the 70s when I was first starting! While I had tried some small flavored cigars on while working on the first job I didn't pick up any habit for them. I went four years smoke free never even liking the smell of cigs but one night at work that vending machine offered a brand of menthols! Vaping menthol of course is the change of experience which does take time to get used to for any long time smoker!

It seems the older the smoker was the more they will actually lean towards the sweeter non tobacco flavors. The younger crowd leans more on the tobacco, and other more tart flavors like this thread brings up about bourbon not grape drink or cherry blossom as a primary example of preference. The equip you use as well as the flavor selection and who makes it can play the largest role however in which ones you will find yourself staying with. For the cig size battery most flavors taste sweeter then the real deal out in the world like a sweet lemonade menthol was what the first disposable(Logic brand spotted at gas station's convenience store for $20 back in '12) tasted like and did not go over well with three of us then menthol smokers!

Lately when opening a bottle of one CCV flavor I hadn't actually vaped since a year ago I had the variable set at 7watts and it seemed a bit too sweet for me at this time and stepped it up to 10w! Then the real taste actually started coming out for that one! The higher temp made the difference and why only some flavors now will work on the few non variable eGo batteries I haven't passed along or worn out yet!

I don't like them too sweet myself. But, I do find that I tend to favor fruity flavors and custards.
Vanilla Custard + a little Strawberry is very good. Although it needs a couple weeks to really mature.

In regards to DIY, I've been doing it for a little while with varying results. Some really good, some not so much.
But I've found Wizard Labs is one of the best places to get all your stuff, even concentrates, since they sell little 8ml bottles at a good price. 1.49 each. And their nicotine, PG,and VG is very good quality and clean.
I'm sure there are other good places, but you certainly want to make sure you're getting good quality base material or you'll be in for a rough ride. I've tried a couple different vendors with varying results, but WL has been consistant which is why I stay with them these days.

The thing abouyt DIy is the steep times. It really changes things. i mean, sometimes something tastes great right after mixing. After a week or 2 steeping it gets better, sometimes not much. Other times bad turns good or gets worse.
You really got to keep track of what you're doing so you can keep a recipe book of what works. There is a lot of trial and error, experimentation going on. Unless of course, you just follow someone elses recipes on flavors you like. But once you stray from that things get a bit more unpredictable.

It is fun though. And really satisfying when you stumble ion a mix thats just amazing. But I still buy vendor juices, just not near as much as I used too and use my DIY stuff in between.

I hear you on the patience part! Mine however would be on the lack of space to get into any serious mixing. Not only a lack of work space but the more ideal situation for keeping things under the best scrutiny I should say. Of course any DIYing I would do would likely be limited to finding out what flavors work well when adding menthol without the menthol part drowning out the other!

Tried that on previous occasions where the second flavor had menthol as well as the first. The simple addition however resulted in a predominant menthol taking over! I then continued to add another flavor in that had none and still the menthol penetrated right through! This latest attempt however was to see Wintergreen cancel menthol while menthol canceled Wintergreen to an extent for the Strawberry/Not quite Mint cooler berry flavor. The watermelon element played a role in that regard.

One thing I found with single berry flavors like your strawberry, cherry or raspberry even is when not in blend like a tropical drink type mix you may find the vapor output is more noticeable while you hardly get much of a flavor despite it being 70/30 just like some cappuccino flavor. It's seems apparent that some flavors simply vaporize quicker then others even when having the exact same PG/VG ratio at work.

All of this flavors stuff is really overboard IMHO
    I'll say it once again
I never smoked flavored tobacco so I doubt I'll start now,
The Deadly sin everyone has been talking about so much ? I wasn't impressed :/

Vaping is a means to an end people not a means to enjoy more,
    Peace out
