The evolution of this thread is amazing.

Went from just a couple of us to a bunch of us vaping it no time it seems.

The important things is, there are many of us who will start a new year tobacco free.
Lets all keep it that way!

Still a couple more weeks to try and help others move away from the tobacco for the New Year as well :)

I'm not surprised here at all! In just about every discussion someone new just starting will come in it seems! As word gets out that ecigs are the "Bogey Man" portrayed by those who want to spread fabrications which i see all too often in blogs, tv news reports, and other articles. Want to know who is actually behind all that? Here's something dated 11/19 that paints a pretty good picture of what is happening as far as bogus information about vaping and why. Big Pharma, not tobacco companies, wages war on electronic cigarettes | WashingtonExaminer.com

Some reports talk about stuff from automotive antifreeze being found in eliquids? PG is not used in antifreeze! Dyethylene Glycol was used as a substitute to detoxify antifreeze from the way it had been originally! The EPA got after companies as well as lead and other things that had been in antifreeze. Rat poison being found in ejuice was another bogey man type scare tactic!

And then one report was pure fiction about the US and Japan finding numerous carcinogens worse then tobacco in ecigs! Oh gets better! That one was more or less the Japanese gov. trying to protect the livelihood of the government run tobacco industry there! Big Tobacco on the other hand would want new regulations to limit what is sold in the US to what they produce as far as disposable and refillables being cig size batteries with prefilled garbage compared to being able to pick and chooose things like you have now! Monopolize is the term suited for that direction while it's a bit too late for all that while Big T has been buying up smaller companies to grab up as much of the market space knowing smoking is declining as a rule as well as most places seeing smoking bans cutting their future unless getting in on the action.

The one thing Big Pharma doesn't people finding out is what the real science shows! The PG used in ejuice is US Produce grade from the US vendors which has been in use in Immediate asthmatic inhalers since the 1950s as well as found in quite a few consumer products as a food additive as well as in pet treats! It also made an effective air sanitizer during the Influenza outbreak during WW II which is learned by digging up the facts.

Propelyne Glycol is found everywhere! Fom food, drinks, antifreeze to ejuice.

    So its true.

But what they fail to mention is that there are different grades of PG. Food safe, and others used for industrial applications.
So, the PG used for some types of Antifreeze is not the same as the food grade found in foods and Ejuice.

Which is why when someone goes to making thier own ejuice, they always say make sure you buy Pure Pharmacetical Grade!!

You'l have to excuse the typo earlier but I didn't say PG was in antifreeze. The media reports that elements from antifreeze were found to be in ecigs. And most likely the ecigs Diethethylene Glycol not Propylene Glycol was found in was found in the early imports coming in from China back in 2007-09 and may have been one reason why the FDA considered a complete ban on imported ecigs at the time.

Note the following reference was from source watch much like Wikipedia with some interesting links at the end.

Diethylene glycol is a component of antifreeze. It was found in a one percent concentration by FDA in electronic cigarette cartridges.[1] It is used as a humectant for tobacco, as well as in synthetic sponges, paper products, in cork compositions, and book-binding adhesives. It is used as an antifreeze solution for sprinkler systems, water seals for gas tanks, and as a lubricating and finishing agent for wool, worsted, cotton, rayon and silk, and as a solvent for vat dyes. It is a component of brake fluids, lubricants, mold release agents and inks. It was found present as a contaminant in Austrian and German wines, after it was added to improve sweetness. It is also used in the lacquer industry and in cosmetics.
The second part and references are seen at Diethylene glycol - SourceWatch

Meanwhile I'm still waiting to see two more items besides the Kragen Atantis tank mod being a reservoir expansion you add onto the base of the tank for drastically increasing the capaciry due out in January the Smok Guardian E-Pipe II mod due in tomorrow and the DovPo E-LVT 30watt mod still to come after are not in this round up of things! Of course you really can't make out everything like the VTR and MVP as well as the Vamos, Vamo Fire in a small round stand at the right plus the two others in this particular snap I take once in a bit for people who wonder about what I use to vape with.

Of course you can see the four spare eGo batteries in the ecig carrying that won't be put in use until another goes DOA since those are simply spares. Then of course today's vape being four of the other type of batteries namely Panasonc High Drain 3400mah 18650s since I needed for the new mods. And I still have an 8pack of 18650s coming in sometime to stock up on those as well for the two epipes! Black Friday helped this year for sure!

Today is 90 days without a smoke, still amazed that I haven't even had an urge for one.

On another note, found out that this Deadly Sin is much better in this new setup.
