Teaching myself to install Windows applications via WINE in Zorin9 on the virtual machine.......NotePad++ running beautifully Mmm....I wonder if I can get WinDBG to work in WINE...

Wine can be a bit picky on what it will run Colin.

Colin how do you like zorin? It is one of my fav distros.

I'm just trying MX-14. It looks quite good so far.

Ubuntu is more polished, but Zorin9 is far, far quicker....it feels snappier, even running as a VM. The Windows 7 look and feel is nice too.

I've got a few installed now, and playing with that:

Colin, I'd like to suggest you try CentOS. My absolute favorite Linux distro. Microsoft has built-in support for CentOS and OpenSUSE in Hyper-V (Windows 8 and later).

You are welcome. See this although I doubt you need any help with it: Hyper-V VM - Install CentOS Linux in Windows 10. Applies to Windows 8 Pro and 8.1 Pro as well.

Ohh thats nice Kari.....will keep that bookmarked for when I install W10 again.....I had to give that up when my laptop died.
