    4K Smart TV's This xmas

Anyone bought a 4K LG Ultra HD TV this Xmas, only to find u cant extend your desk top to it, cant look at a normal TV listing with out numerous clicking of a annoying magic remote, but have to use a program called plex media which at every turn wants you to pay for something that use to be free, but mostly cant pause record live tv without a external HHD, altho lead me to believe it had internal hd? ....... now they are very vague as what will work ??, seen lots on forums that usb sticks too small

I got a spare 1tb 3.5 hard drive couldn't I just buy a usb caddy or enclosure connect by usb anyone tried this?, think it might work ??

Not sure about the USB hard drive, but I do have a smart TV which uses USB hard drives and my understanding of it, is that as long as it's powered and has been formatted to be used by the TV, it should be good to go.

still looking this up but how do u get a powered USB stick I thought they drew there power from the USB port there in ? , also still looking for how, u would format a USB stick to work with my TV ? biggest USB drive I have 32 GB I wouldn't of thought that would last long if u was recording HHD TV ? my old TV had 1000 GB internal HD and I filled that ....... or am I just getting this all wrong big time ?
