Is Microsoft in danger of going out of business?

Is Microsoft in danger of going out of business? This would effect what type of operating system we have in the future. The reason I am asking this, Microsoft is laying people off and continuing to do so. I know they might file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in the U.S. Those layoffs have me concerned with the future of the windows operating system including those currently supported.

Well they just spent $2.5 Billion buying Minecraft.......not sure they'd do that if they were going out of business.

When a big company buys another company their is a over lap in personnel.

    Example:
Both companies have accounting departments. When they merge they don't need two accounting departments. Some of the people that work in account will be let go.

Same thing with engineering, advertising, management ect.

The recent layoffs have been for overlapping personnel from their newly acquired Nokia "division". Why do you think M$ is going to apply for Chapter 11 in the U.S.?
