Just heard on the news tonight will be the largest show of the moon (supermoon its perigee) for the 21st century tonight 1245am down here and it will not occur again until 2034 so better get out there and see it.

Try to get a viewing area that lets you see the moonrise as close to the ground as possible to get the full affect :)
It was OK, with a name like beaver moon, I was expecting more. Maybe the next one will be better

Yep when I was a kid we called them the harvest moon because it seemed to coincide with harvest time.
Just saw it before it set below the mountain ridge 06:28 am est, it was almost as big as a nearby house!

November's full moon is also called the Beaver Moon because it arrives at the time of year (in the Northern Hemisphere) when hunters would set traps before the waters froze over, to ensure they had enough warm furs for the winter.
The Beaver Moon follows the full Hunter's Moon of October and the full Harvest Moon of September — both of which are also named for seasonal changes that marked times when people would begin to prepare for the colder months ahead. November's full moon also has been referred to as the full Frost Moon, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.
