£100,000 for a hifi mains cable

I was reading a thread about hifi on the Ask Jack tech blog (UK Guardian) and some wag joked about five grand mains cables from Russ Andrews. Although I'm familiar with the mega speaker cable malarky, I'd not heard about 'special' mains cables - so I checked out

audio interconnects, hdmi and Kimber speaker cable from Russ Andrews for your hifi and home cinema

sure enough they sell £5K mains leads - but they also do another for £100K ! see pic

    if this is a wind-up, it's a funny one. If not . . .

And, at that price, they will ship it in only ten working days after ordering. Such a deal!

Takes 'em that long to quit laughing that someone actually ordered one.

What amazes me about the people that buy these specially priced accessories (Monster Cable etc.) is that their very speacial cable connected to a PCB in the TV, DVD player or amp. tuner or receiver where all the runs of print are 1 or at the most 2 oz copper and the pcb had all the other electronic crap running around on it yet the 3 meters of cable between the devices made such a difference. They would buy special cables carrying digital signals which made no difference. The salesman had conned them out of several hundred dollars and the mark up on those cables was fantastic. Generally made more profit on the cables than the sale of the rest of the system. Yes I agree on good quality cables with nice wires but a $80 power cable is extracting the urine. As for a $100,000 I would have expected that delivered for that price by the owner of the company by frigging helicopter. I cannot believe anyone would buy that, it is daylight robbery.
