    Win98se system.ini question

    I know I should possible ask at the other forum. More people are here. Since my computer has more than 1gb ram installed. Are these the correct settings I should use in the system.ini file?

    I have a way to modify this real easy.

    [386Enh]
    MaxPhysPage=40000
    PagingDrive=C:
    PagingFile=C:\PAGEFILE.SYS
    MinPagingFileSize=1048576
    MaxPagingFileSize=1048576
    ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1

    [vcache]
    MaxFileCache=393216

    Here is what I did to save data. Using Windows xp. I copied w98se partition to usb drive using partition wizard. I also activated that partition on the USB drive. Now, what I am going to do is one of two things, try transferring to 1st primary partition on my system or convert it to VHD then use Free Virtual Box or Free Vmware. I would prefer doing the 1st. I already know how to do that.

    Going to try the the Virtual Machine Method when I can. 1st partition method didn't work. No memory modification seems to work.

    One issue I see is that WinME/98SE/98/95 didn't use the Paging File/pagefile.sys for Virtual Memory but did use the Swap File/win386.swp, created during the install.

    Thank You,
    I was testing out that modification from what I read on the web. I already restored the system.ini back to my own modification that I used.
