So my friend is a mac user...........

My friend cites this forum as the reason Windows products are garbage and iOS is superior. I attempted to defend myself and the sanctity of Windows by saying they can't have an iOS support because when iOS breaks it's time to get a new one.... and that most iOS users are content with slowing down and overall faulty performance developing over time whereas Windows at least gives you the tools to stay in tip-top shape (e.g. if my browser suddenly crashes I am all over it, scanning, updating, checking for corruption/viruses... but i am usualyl content with my iPad browser crashing 3-4 times a day as normal)

What else do you guys have in defense of Windows... I know Windows itself has a lot flaws, but that's the tradeoff you get for such customization and compatibility that is not found in a mac

You don't need to defend Microsoft operating system. The market place already does that.

Mac system have around 5% of the market share for desktop/laptop operating systems and Microsoft has over 90% of the market and have for a long time.

If Mac is so good why don't more use it? That is the question.

    Hi,
First you would have to compare machine costs so they are at least equal
If talking about a 2-3k mac compared to a 2-3k windows unit I believe the discussion would be obviously short and windows would win.

If comparing a 2..k mac to a 600.us windows unit it would be an odd comparison and a silly discussion

Once upon a time, not so long ago, I would have argued that Windows was the better OS. Now, I feel neither of them is any good with MAC having a slight advantage. Even Win 7 has been getting updates to install spyware like what is on Win 10 (I screen those out but it's a hassle I should have to deal with). I still don't know what I'm going to do when Win 7 reaches EOL.

Mac's are a status symbol in many high priced colleges. That's all.
Use a Microsoft operating system. Just put a Apple sticker on the computer and you will fit right in.
You will then be considered one of the good people around campus.
Mac's don't get or need repaired. Hell no, just call home and mommy and daddy will send you another one by FedEx, UPS, or a limo.

An Apple sticker with a worm coming out of it?
