Daughter lost iphone 5S, on night out tonight...... managed to block phone EE sim only .... but rubbish find my I phone programme wont find ??? thought I was protected seems not I don't have a iclould account for my daughters account or mine now I check just app accounts ?????

How are you in find my iPhone? On another phone? iCloud has been around for a while.
why cant u just put phone number in, and find that's what I was lead to believe
The device you are looking for has to have the find my iPhone enabled for you to be able to see it.

I'm not sure where you are trying to put a phone number, it is looking for a signal that will be available if you have it enabled. It will be listed as one of your devices.
Even if the phone has it enabled but the phone is off it can find it.
when I sign into icould on my account it goes straight to where my iphone is but when I log in as my daughter it doesn't ....... this was partly because she didn't know any of her passwords had to redo all that but think I got that all sorted, at least as far as I can see but still know location of phone
