winters are coming, is it correct
i read in a local english newspaper that, "winters are coming"
is it correct sentence or not
in my opinion it should be "winter is coming"

It's impossible to tell if that sentence belongs without more context. The two sentences you put forward, of course, have different meanings: one indicates that there are multiple winters coming, whereas the other states that there is just one winter coming.
Though "winters are coming" does sound slightly weird as seasons are predicable and consistently spaced.

I am convinced if it is stated in a NEWSpaper, it should " be winter is coming", being it NEWS
