    What is "horizontal tilt"?

    Hello guys,

I have been playing Asphalt 8 (racing game) and there is an option in the controls to toggle Horizontal Tilt on or off.

I did not exactly observe any changes with the controls whether it was on or off. What is it?

I'm no gamer but I do see it has four control options, two with tilt steering and two with manual.
And I think that check mark in Horizontal Tilt can be changed to Flip and possibly other choices.
    Sorry.

It lets you use your mobile device like a steering wheel.

Yes my device is using the "steering wheel" method but there doesn't seem to be a difference with or without horizontal tilt checked.

Just a guess, is your screen locked?

    Is this on an iPad?

Nope. This is on my Xperia Z1 Compact. It doesn't affect my game controls (able to play normally), or at least I don't think so. But it's there so it must be something haha.

I'm just curious the Asphalt FAQ/KB doesn't have it and any Google search only returns a definition relating to cameras.

Quite surprised the definition of a compound word made of very simple words is hard to find.

When you are out of the game does the screen rotate for you?

I do see some hits on Google about the accelerometer on that phone,

And this about the game itself,

The screen is back to normal outside the game. :)

I would also think the term is gyroscope-related. Thanks for the links, not exactly an answer but those were pretty useful diagnostics tools.
