    You are right Bill.

Camping with all your friends plus the use of the best camping equipment one can get. Sounds like a vacation many families take.

Oh you are all mislead! How does this sound, gets dark at 5pm, as soon as it's dark your not aloud to use any form of light, out on patrol at 9-10, then stag begins( lookout) usually do two 1 hour shifts, lying on the ground, freezing, so you can be in from patrol at 10, bed from 11-2, up for stag til 3, ed til 5 up for stag til 7, other nights you might get contacted(shot at) at 3am, waking up to gunfire and grenades ain't a welcomed sight, it really isn't happy camping, not aloud to stand up unless you have your rifle, webbing and helmet on, rifle isn't aloud to e more than arms length away at all times, you even have to cuddle it to sleep at night XD , then during the day your rolling about in mud, breathing out your arse running, all sorts, not a fun experience!

What no camp fires and marshmallows. What kind of military did you join?

Just remember their will be good times and bad times and you will learn from all of them. You will also remember them forever.

Closest thing to a campfire is your hexi cooker, when you cook meals, Oh and the "Best camping gear" it is possibly the worst camping gear, we dont use tents, its a "Poncho" something that literally just acts as a sloped ceiling, no protection from wind that comes in the side lol, and when its when, your basher"sleeping area" floods. Horrible
