    Running XP

    Yes. you read it right

I've had to revert back to XP due to lack of hardware resources.

I'm posting requesting help in the Chillout Room bacause of that fact. I need a way to force my 'Default Monitor' refresh rate as i'm using an NVidia GeForce FX 5500 and outputting to my TV via S-VIDEO. The problem is that it wont output to 1024x768 whereas it did in Se7en.

I've tried RefreshForce (ReForce) and it does nothing so any other ideas would be great.

Rep can't be given in the Chillout Room (and this is an XP help rquest LOL) but those that manage to help me will be credited on another helpful post.

    Thanks in advance :)

If the NVidia drivers work on XP, you can create a custom resolution and force that. That should work.

    Cheers LB.

I've just uninstalled the driver, back to 'Standard VGA', and installed nForce driver 93.71 and it worked. Funny thing is that i've installed it before but got no picture at all on my TV but now it's working fine

Cool. Glad it works. So just needed a different driver?

    OS,
Don't know if you're after "Refresh rate" or "1024x768" settings,

    but for future usage, try:

    Rclk on Desktop, Properties.

Then 'Settings' tab, upper Right. This gives 1024x768 or more.

The 'Advanced' button, lower Right, should give Refresh, 60 cycles, etc.

Good to here the driver reload worked this time, tho...

    Thanks Chuck,

I'm well aware of the advanced options but the 'Defalt Monitor' only had 60Hz selectable with no other selection even with 'Show all modes' enabled.

The main reason I wanted refresh rate as well as resolution was that the image on my TV was showing slight distortion/lines as if the refresh rate was 0

Oh well, at least I can now watch my downloaded movies & tv shows on my TV at a decent resolution

Glad it works. Someday I want to have 3 video cards hooked up to 5 sexy TVs (around 30 inch) modified by removing that stupid border and putting them together.
