What browser is the best for a low memory windows xp system? I just have an old system that I use occasionally. I just want a browser that loads fast for windows xp. I could do palemoon but that word require some compiling of palemoon source code but that could be difficult.

Not that many to choose from since most dropped support for XP. Firefox comes to mind but not many after that.

Almost any except IE. Waterfox is the slim version of Firefox & works OK in my book.

    More info on Waterfox.

You could try Opera 12.18 Portable. It's pretty lightweight.

    Download Opera@USB - MajorGeeks

Note: It's unlikely to receive any updates.

Opera 12.18 is "Classic Opera" with Presto engine (not Chromium/Blink)

It's a security update with a few protocols that are considered unsafe removed and also added protocols which were not in 12.17. and enabled TLS 1.1 and 1.2 by default.

Or try FlashPeak SlimJet (Chrome) / FlashPeak SlimBrowser (IE) - portable versions available.

Maxthon is pretty light, not sure if it still supports xp though. You could always go oldversion.com and try their offerings.

Maxthon Cloud Browser | Fast & Secure Browsers | Download Maxthon Web Browser Free

Old versions of Windows, Mac and Linux Software, Apps & Abandonware Games - Download at OldVersion.com
