I saw some fools on an IRC chat today saying Windows 10 was better than 7 in every aspect. I asked them to name something you can do on Windows 10 that is impossible to be accomplished on Windows 7. 20 mins later... no reply. My job is done :)

Windows 10 also broke my computer :/ Now I have an unbootable Windows 7 install.

No it didn't, you did. You screwed it by dual-booting with Ubuntu which places the GRUB boot loader in a higher priority that the Windows loader. When you tried to roll back to Windows 7, it got confused about where to write the Windows boot loader. Thus you ended up with a corrupted master boot record - a classic 0x7E BSOD.

Next time to post a BSOD thread, read the instructions - that way you might get a quicker reply.

Windows (10 or any other version) does not break computers. Stupid "I don't need any advice, I know what I am doing!" users do break computers.

Hi Everyone, I like Windows 10, but still prefer Windows 7, and mainly stick to it. I broke my machine a

few years ago with the dual booting Linux with Windows 7, what a fun mess I made for myself, but I

managed to fix it in the end. I did learn a big lesson there. If I want to try something different, install it on

and external harddrive or a usb stick then I cannot break anything.

    Hi,
Indeed I finally found this item that made life so much easier to deal with other os's and 7 is left alone by them all
Not sure how I lived so long without it lol

I bought a retail Win 10 Pro last Summer thinking I would get something finished with maybe a service pack or two down the road. The sinking feelings started a few days after the install which went OK but I could not make it look the way I wanted like I could with 7. It now has a bunch of add-on software and it is sort of OK.......But I really had to struggle with it to get it there. I have never updated the thing because I am afraid of the possible consequences. And the number of updates.?? My dream of a service pack or two has gone up in smoke. I give up. I am pulling the drive with 10 and installing my beloved 7 on a new SSD. 10 is probably good for some but in the final analysis, for me it came down to a matter of free will. 10 just seems terribly controlling and that makes me uncomfortable and nervous. I just don't need all that......

    Hi,
I let 10 sit for about nearly 10 months after the anniversary update that took some group policy settings away from 10 pro
Now on the creators update which is not all that great either but some items did not reset like all other large build updates did in the past but still quite a few did still reset back to default

So yes 10 is a all in or all out type of os for sure
I'm pretty much done with it for a while no telling how long.
