Just waiting for the other insurance/driver to claim responsibility. That way I get my deductible waived and I could get my check sooner.

Starting physical therapy tomorrow, shoulder and neck are still sore.

Hope the other party doesn't take too long, do you have representation other than your insurance co.?

Be careful with the PT [physical therapy] in the beginning, go slow and build up you don't want to injure another part of yourself, if something doesn't feel right don't hesitate to say something to the therapist.

I have a lawyer and let him know of the accident. I'll get him involved if I need to, so far there hasn't been any problems.

The other person/insurance company claimed responsibility. That waives my deductible. They also will pay for my PT/medical expenses. I have to call their adjuster on Monday to let them know I'm seeking medical treatment.

Wonderful! That's concern you don't have to worry about now.

When you call their adjuster Monday ask her/him how they need the billings for your doctors, and PT sent to them usually the quickest is by fax but get the regular street address and phone contact numbers, a website wouldn't hurt either.

You mentioned an x-ray at the hospital, usually what happens is the hospital will bill you because of a lack of information and claims of responsibility after an accident, then you have to send those hospital billings to their adjuster or tell the hospital where to send them if the billings haven't been worked by the hospital yet. You may want to get the phone / fax number(s) for the hospital/billings office if you don't have them already.

If your area is like mine you'll notice how businesses rely on fax's, and some of mine are still on XP let alone win7. Something to consider; I don't know if you itemize your tax returns but keep everything related to the accident including mileage and tolls going to and returning from the doctors, PT, insurance adjusters, et all. , If it goes over the standard deduction you may want to consider using it. Start collecting now especially if you do your own taxes, as this may affect them and you won't really know until next year when you file.

Here's one look at how you can claim your totaled car: http://If your car is stolen or damaged, you may be able to claim a theft or casualty loss deduction | www.360financialliteracy.org The bottom of the left panel has a tax link. Talk to your tax pro if you have one.

Thanks for keeping us updated!

I'm waiting for the hospital bills to show up at my house. I had an ambulance ride to the emergency room, a general look over and a neck brace until my x-ray results came back. I'm wondering how much that will be. I think they'll send the bills to my insurance company and they will forward them to the other persons insurance. My adjuster has been really helpful. He's telling me things I should do to speed up the process. I should be getting my deductible back early next week then I'll have a better down payment on another car/truck.

Do be watchful for double billing by the hospital and doctors.

Some will try to get you and your insurance company to pay the same bill.

Been there, done that.
