Ambulance in my area starts at $700, I know you didn't but a copter ride starts at $3000. X-rays, I'm not sure how they're priced, probably a couple of grand, doctor, neck-brace and room, un-educated guess? $4000? Ask your adjuster he sounds helpful I would believe you have a right to know.

    Good advice Jack!

That's small potato's compared to the next visit and doctor bills soon after :)
Which by the way most doctor bills are separate than the ER and hospital bills

1200? Aw..That's because you live in a fancy neighborhood.

Seriously, there are other factors involved other than area served, like volunteer or dedicated service, training, equipment, salaries / pensions if dedicated. The paperwork's a pain but at least it won't be coming out of your pocket.
If you don't already belong you should think of joining your local ambulance association. I pay $80 a year for family membership and that's for any rides I need from home or a car accident to a hospital, I consider it reasonable insurance. There are agreements with other local assoc. that will cut me a break if whatever happens, happens outside of my local area.

    Hang in there Havoc.

p.s. Don't forget the anesthesiologist TZ. It's good LayBack mentioned about keeping an eye on the bills.

p.p.s. I wonder how Lady F. is doing?

lol yes keep an eye on them
Problem is hospitals can't add that fast so the bills will take at least 4 weeks to all come in
Although the cost do add up fast it's an accountant turtle deal.

I didn't actually see the bill. I got a paper from my health insurance company asking about the charge. I filled out a form they sent me and included the accident report. I'm mailing it tomorrow.

The bill was from my local fire department. The headquarters is less than a mile from where the accident was.

I know TZ, I have an INR test at the beginning of the month for the warfin I take and the bill for it isn't sent out until the 27th of the month, I usually have another test before the bill gets to me, and I'm left wondering; Did I pay for the last visit yet?

The next time wouldn't be the first time it got mixed up.

@HAVOC: Keep doing what you're doing, make sure you have extra copies of the reports to send along for any other inquiries.

Thanks for asking. I'm fine. I wasn't injured any (just rattled) and, once the shop was able to replace the left side mirror a couple days after the accident, my poor truck is safe to drive until they can do the rest of the body work later this month.

    Hi,
Just makes sure when you do settle that all bills that may come in are covered by the claim :)

You're welcome, that's great to hear!

Mentioning poor trucks, my '03 Silverado's going in Tuesday for a look see on it's fuel lines, I had the brake lines done a few years back, it won't be cheap.
