The connector on Cruzers retracts inside the shell...
That's definetly a cool drive but in dollars that's like 82.50 for the 16 gb I like the looks of the Ironkey but no price?

I had a U3 Cruzer and wasn't too impressed. Very much of a plastic feel, and the connector sometimes retracts into the body when you're trying to push it into a port, which can be a PITA.

I have an 8gb and 16gb cruzer micro and performance is great. (It can be a pain plugging in tho I agree with you there)

I also found this one, it actually takes care of needing a cap issue as this one seems to retract deeper inside the case?

But I dont think it has a keychain hook.

Yes but the end port is still open allowing debris to get inside on the connectors. Even though it retracts & wont break off, its still not totally covered like some.

Dont we need to worry about dirt getting inside these things?

I thoroughly recommend the LaCie products linked to earlier. They are far slimmer than any other USB sticks and are nicely burnished aircraft grade aluminium. You get two models and various capacities, I went for the slimmer one in 16Gb format personally - and it's way sleeker than the Corsair Voyager it replaced

If money is no object, titanium is probably nice. But for a budget, this one may do too: SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB USB Flash Drive - Retail Package - SuperMediaStore.com?

Hi there
these aren't so uncommon
here's mine

8GB "Integral" stick -- bought in Dixon's at at Heathrow airport. 16 GB one's common as well now - with nice little leather carrying case.

Photo shown

BTW avoid Heathrow if you can - in a lifetime of working in different countries Heathrow must be one of the most hideous airport experiences ever (and I've been in some rough places in my time such as Port Harcourt in Nigeria etc.)

Cheers
jimbo
