Is the antiques market dead?

My mom passed away 10 years ago (my dad has been gone over 30 years now) and I inherited her house full of her little treasures - mainly vintage glassware like Depression, carnival and cut glass and also some Noritake and European porcelain, framed artwork, Victorian furniture and countess knickknacks. I am trying to sell the things, but apparently these items have gone out of fashion.

Hardly anyone shops at garage sales any more (with online selling sites like eBay and Etsy). I tried selling online also, but has absolutely no interest. A friend told be that I hit the antiques market at the worst possible time with the economic downturn and also the trend away from collecting cluttery things and dust-catchers. The old heavy brown Victorian furniture is out of style - people now want pastel or white furniture and clean walls.

Last year a woman stopped at a sale I had and picked up a pink Depression glass bowl (see attached photo). I am asking $20 for it which is less than half the book price. She said it was probably well worth that, but if she bought it, she'd be afraid to use it and she didn't want to pay $20 for something that would just sit on a shelf. I told her it really wasn't a bowl to use, it was a "collector's item". She didn't buy it. My mom bought things she liked with no intention of ever using them - it was just that - to simply collect the things she liked.

I just wondered how people got turned away from what were "hot" collectibles 20 years ago.

So how is the CPU market looking?
I managed to snatch up a R9 280X for cheap 2 weeks ago as it was an offer I wouldn't see anytime soon here in Mexico, got it for 300Dollars give or take. Taking the import fees and all, it was a really good deal. Anywho. I am currently running an A10-5800K and it would be a gigantic bottleneck...

Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide Lags
Hi, I was wondering my PC runs the Dead Island games with lag. It's really annoying, my friend's PC doesn't lag and his is less powerful. I run the games on Steam. My PC specs: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz 16.0 GB of RAM My video card: AMD Radeon HD 6450
