You mean the MS spyware? They sent it in some early updates, to spy on what you're doing. These are the updates you shouldn't have installed, and the list includes the forcible install of Win 10. By coming 7 years late to Win7, I was able to avoid all these.

    2952664 (Windows 10 Upgrade preparation)
    2976978 (Windows 10 Upgrade preparation)
    2977759 (Windows 10 Upgrade preparation)

    2990214 (Windows 10 Upgrade preparation)
    3021917 (Windows 10 Upgrade preparation + Telemetry)
3022345 (Telemetry); may affect System File Checker

    3035583 (Windows 10 upgrade preparation)
    3050265 (a June 2015 replacement for 2990214)
3065987 (a July 2015 replacement for 2990214) might allow a way to block other Win 10 related KBs.

    3068708 (Telemetry) (a later replacement for 3022345)
    3075249 (Telemetry); first seen 8/19/15
    3080149 (Telemetry); first seen 8/19/15

    3090045 (update revision)
    3112343 (Windows 10 attack vector)
    3123862 (Upgrade vector)

    3133977 (Windows 7 'Bitlocker' = Asus landmine)
3139929 SECURITY update that includes ad-ware
    317304 The final nag

There are probably several threads on this in the main Win 7 Forum.

After many years of using Windows 10 I came back to Win7 and I'm totally satisfied now more than ever,so do my modest laptop, Windows 7 is gold compared to other MS operating systems, their latest OS Win10 adds just compatibility with latest hardware and techniques, other features like Cortana & metro apps are just garbage. it's shame MS will drop support of win7 sooner.

    MMC?

I don't use the Library either, as I have all my data on the D partition. I like the Start Menu, restored it with Classic Shell.
MMC (multimedia controls) comes from Windows.

Yes. I don't use nor keep the premade folders. I delete them (registry entries).

I loved W7! Actually unsure why I jumped to W10.
In fact, I even loved WXP, and W2K, and W9x.

Simply put, I love Windoze, all in all!

I was very happy with Windows 7 although with Windows 7 reaching EOL 01/14/2020 I find it's best to make the move to Windows 10 upgrade while it's free.

I refuse to purchase Windows 10 since I also run Linux and Linux does everything I need to do on a computer.

When Windows 10 first came out I hated it although now that it has been out for a long while it A-OK now.

I don't care for all of the Windows 10 useless crap that I'll never need or use however Windows 10 is free so can't really complain.

Windows 10 works as good as Windows 7 for what I do on a computer and it also runs fine on all of my Dell Optiplex 380 computers from 2010.

I don't worry about all of the telemetry of Windows 10 as Google and everyone else collects your info also and uses it how they want and if you ain't doing nothing illegal no worries imo.
