The drummer of the Rolling Stones, Charlie Watts loved jazz. He actually just wanted to play drums for a jazz band until he was part of the Rolling Stones. He recently passed.

    Not bad.

For the record, the '80s had some of, if not the best music ever made for a decade. I say that due to not only the creativity, the stories behind the lyrics, but the wealth of instruments used in a song and the song's resulting abundance of musical richness. Not so today with a lot of the mediocre, subpar, made for money bullcrap. Not all of the songs today are like that, but a good majority of them are. It's corporate greed at its best just like today's BS super hero movies and whatnot. Movies like Dances With Wolves or Schindler's list are a thing of the past it seems. Musical groups like Van Halen, Tom Petty, Golden Earning, The Police, Huey Lewis and the News, Mr. Mister, INXS, Duran Duran, you freaking name it are all a talent that can't be compared to today's music. There's no comparison, there simply isn't. To use an analogy. On one side you have fine gourmet food with a nice wine. On the other side you have some fast food crap. The commonality? One is easy to obtain, popular, and can be addicting, but is very bad for you. Just what the corporate doctor ordered... And as a result our culture is in (on) the toilet.
