Sure Oli,
Your batting average is horrible.
Now get back and fix the guy's printer problem and leave us true soccer fans alone!
Do you guys basically feel the way I do about the USA/Ghana game, the notion that yes, USA was beaten, but just marginally? I don't deny that Ghana is strong and put in two goals, but it seems like we had just as many opportunities as they did, the only difference being that USA's attacks on goal were just barely nipped in the bud while being extremely close to the target at the same time. And hey, it went into overtime as well, which just shows that the U.S. could not be easily beaten.
I guess I felt like it could have gone either way. That's why I think the United States is slowly improving and making progress. I can only hope that the trend continues and they will become even stronger opponents in future cups.
Well, maybe or maybe not. In the 30's they once made it to the quarter finals. But there was not much improvement in the last 80 years. Next time around it is going to be a new team - and who knows how that will do.
The US is not a football nation as much as none of the European countries would be a baseball nation. Considering that I think they did pretty well.
I think the second goal scored by Ghana could possibly be the prettiest goal I've seen all World Cup. The goaltender played the ball perfect, came out and challenged, but was just beat by a perfect shot.
The U.S made me proud this World Cup. They'll be back in 2014 (minus the vuvuzela's)
I watched an interview with a trumpet player talking about the vuvuzela's.
The plastic version that people are using, the sound being produced is inbetween two notes. (A & B flat) Which is why the sound is so irritating to human ears.
If they were to provide vuvuzela's with different lengths, you would get multiple notes and alot less irritating sound.
