I don't know if I should find another rooting interest for the rest of the tournament, or just give up until next time around.

I'm open to sales pitches from fans of different teams....give me a compelling argument and I'll consider rooting for your guys the rest of the way.
I usually start rooting for the people who are facing the team that beat the team I was originally rooting for

I support New Zealand. I'm not really into sport though, so I don't really go nuts over it.

One way to do it (to ensure a full interest, for the whole competition), is to support Ghana, as the winner of todays match, in their next match and so on always following the winning team

Team USA played really well considering the experience they had before getting involved throughout this World Cup. I think, come 2014, they will be a much better team. Congrats to Ghana and Uruguay for advancing to the last eight.
Can't wait to watch the England vs. Germany and Argentina vs Mexico games. :)

A shame USA is out. Even I'm not so interested in football, I have to say I liked to watch them play. Better luck 2014!

My last change to win something today. Even I live here in Germany, have a German wife and my friends here, I've never learned to support Germany in any sport. So, I made the bet a week before the World Cup opened, that Germany does not qualify to quarterfinals, meaning I win if England wins today.

    Go England!

I woke up and England was down 2-1 at the half....do they have a USA-like comeback in their arsenal?
