I try to avoid the stores entirely during the holidays, because I despise crowds and chaos. However, listening to the radio this morning, before daylight, they had a radio crew at our local Best Buy, and the commentator spoke about how much larger than usual the crowd was. Considering the economy this seemed odd, even with the sale prices, but he also said that the stores were hoping that the crowds had come to buy, rather than just for the spectacle...prices or spectacle, I'll stay at home.

I could not get up at 4 AM having stayed up until 2 AM installing other new devices. I figured the "powerzone" (electronics-mainly) PX on Ft Hood would be a madhouse when I got there at 230 PM---but it wasn't that bad--surprisingly the foodcourt was about empty--guess everyone hungry to spend on stuff rather than chow down. I would rather eat first.

Anyway I got in on a killer deal today only--99$ for a 1.5TB WD external Mybook. Sticker said the regular sales price was $169.
But its USB 2.0. I still have yet to use any of my e-sata ports....

A lot of the stuff offered in store you can find online nowadays so I don't see a need to go out shopping black friday. Amazon especially has been having some very nice deals, and newegg as well. I def wish I had some extra money to buy a few things.

Logic Buy - has all the current black friday deals from various places available online

I do agree the stores are not offering very good deals anymore. They lure you in with a few really cheap items that they only stock a few of. Then when you get there and they're gone they get you to buy a regularly priced equivalent...I saw quite a few "deals" where the item was still about $10 higher than you could buy online.
