Chips--how important is it for you to comment on YT? It's not really a place where you can have a back-and-forth discussion, and I see a lot of people comment just to ridicule the video. Can you still enjoy the videos without commenting? There are so many other sites where you can have a real discussion of an issue.

With 10,000 videos being uploaded daily, I don't think Google worries too much about someone being banned wrongly. Everything is automated.
I tend to watch a lot of movie reviews/commentaries, history/political documentaries, and bad driving vids. I then comment on the vid in question, like criticising the movie and maybe putting the video posters right about things they've said, or saying what the bad driver did wrong during a clip, that sort of thing.

Regarding posting links, I have posted links in the past, but not during the period around X-Mas. When I have posted links it's normally to sites like Wikipedia, news articles, history sites, interviews, and to other Youtube vids. They're always done in order to prove a point in my argument, not to advertise.

During my argument with the "person" I didn't post any links to prove a point. I just told him the wrongs of terrorism, that there's never an excuse for murdering innocent civilians for things that our governments might have done. I then left the computer and when I returned I'd been banned for "spamming".

There is nothing in the rules stating that topics have to be about 7. There's only restriction is the posting of several different topics. Unfortunately Chips I think that you are out of luck unless you want to contact important Google people or take any legal action. When Google bought Youtube they linked existing accounts with their own.
