I Just Had My MRI Scan Done Today..

That's Magnetic resonance imaging for those that don't know.. O! HAHA. That's Me!! I had the scan done more then an hour and a half from home. 3 Hours round trip.. Not including traffic. They gave me a CD with the images for the orthopedic surgeon. O! Ya.. I didn't say what all this was about did I. I tore the tendon in my bicep and also tore my rotator cuff.. Fun! I know... Anyway I drove home, it was I very nice day. Anyway I got home and put the CD in looked through the images and YA! Goblygook to me. But then I thought that I could make an interesting video out of this.. so I took all the images and put them in sequence. And this is the result. Buy the way.. I find out on Monday if I need surgery or not. Anyway here's the anatomy of my shoulder! I guess you have to go to school for 13 years to know what your looking at.

Most people don't get to see something like that. They hear of people having an MRI scan and don't really understand the implications or what it involves. Your video shows those!
Thanks for sharing and good luck Monday.

You're not meant to understand it, as it's for the radiologist and the surgeon and who-knows-who-else. I had 2, 1 before each knee replacement. An MRI takes multiple pictures that are thin slices of the whole picture. Imagine slicing an apple, including the stem, skin, pits and core, into very thin slices. Now line them up in order. Other than that, I know nothing.

I now have X-rays of my knee implants, alas only 2 of each, not enough for a video.

But I like your initiative in making a video. What program did you use?

Hi RoWin7. I use my PhotoStage Slideshow Producer. I can create videos through images with it. This is actually my third MRI. 1 of my back. 1 of my hip and 1 shoulder. I have all thee CD's. There just fascinating to look at.

I'm not too good with multimedia. Is the program intuitive?

Well I found it fairly easy to figure out. Here's some screen shots from the NCH web site to look through. PhotoStage Screenshots And if you want to play with it you can download a free version here---> PhotoStage "FREE" Version This guy made a series of tutorials on the PhotoStage free version. It'll give you a good running start and you'll be making your own slide shows and videos before you know it. Take a look.
