There wasn't much left of Nostromo, but the remains of it lasted. Laboratory rats are quite white and tidy nowadays (thanks animal cause). Yes it's an actual fact "Win 7 runs hot" now!

...nothing is free in the business concern and an upgrade offer is certainly not free either (devoid of interest, let's say)...
Exactly. Businesses have to make a profit to exist and they can't make a profit on freebies. They will get that pofit from you one way or another. An example is the "free" shipping myth. Even though shipping may not be a separate charge, you still pay for it because it has been factored into the purchase price. If you compare bottom line (product price + shipping+ tax) quotes from vendors that offer "free" shipping and those that do not, you often find the ones that have "free" shipping have a costlier bottom line than the ones that charge separately for shipping, especially for multi line item orders.

The same was said about XP when it finally reached EOL (or EOS, if you prefer). It wasn't the Armageddon everyone was forecasting.

...I think already Sony and Pioneer announced their end of support for Windows 7 by January 14th...
All that will mean, if true, are two fewer manufacturers I'll do business with. HP did the same thing in the past and that is one of several reason's I do not do business with them.

I stand notified under rule of law, thank you. Perhaps this time the sky will actually fall. I have waited a lifetime to see this happen, and I hope it will be good.

I stand notified under rule of law, thank you, sir. I will simply have to take my chances. but should the sky actually fall, I will not be disappointed, as I have waited a lifetime (64 years) to see it happen.
