Recommend Basic Tablet, Etc With WIFI For Travel Please

I'm based in The UK but travel to The Czech Republic quite a lot. I need some kind of tablet, etc to use WIFI when I'm in a hotel/pub/bar/restaurant, etc.

It's just for web browsing, emails, online banking, etc, etc. Hopefully something simple to use, inexpensive, reliable - maybe with the capability to plug in a keyboard but this is not essential.

Does anyone have any recommendations, please. Also which OS would be best for less hassle and an easy life.

Hello woodbine

I cannot exactly recommend one product as that is ultimately your choice.

However, I can say Google Chromebook and Samsung Galaxy Tab are among the simplest to use. They practically all have WiFi these days. Some also have a slot for your mobile SIM, but those devices tend to be dearer. Apple iPad and Microsoft Surface are among the more versatile.

Get something where you can install a new browser, as a browser update may disable your Tablet from use on the web.

WiFI is WIFI wherever you are, although there are two frequencies 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz. 2.5Ghz is more common, but if that becomes obsolete, then you'd wish you had 5Ghz.

Microsoft and Apple have reputations for having the biggest built-in obsolescence.

If you are travelling abroad, what you need is a plug adaptor.
