So, what exactly does the big MSFT press conference really mean? Is it hype? Is it still just windows 10, with a nicer look? It seems they are bringing back aero glass. I see nothing to indicate the basic model (of tracking you and forcing updates on you) is going to change. Nothing here to make me consider leaving Windows 7 and Linux.

There are ways to strip down Windows, and for 10 there is Windows 10 AME. Not for everyone though. I'm looking at Zorin OS in VMware right now. Zorin OS - Make your computer better.

In regards to your post. Have you looked at Linux Lite? Looks & feels similar to Windows.
