The Undead: Norton & Symantec
I ran across a couple of old notes dealing with the incredible persistence of those vile unspeakable programs N&S. I shouldn't allow such minor things to build up into a monomaniacal obsession.
After calmly going about normal means and actions to remove them from a computer I am experimenting with - I found that they weren't actually programs. They are two symbiotic self-replicating lifeforms. The removal programs from Norton and others exist as self-preservation mutations. They lull the dull witted humans into a simple acceptance that N&S is nothing... and is soon unnoticed and forgotten.
There is a way to fight back! The mighty REGEDIT! Use find, delete and F3. Start with "Norton" and mercilessly root out and delete it wherever it hides. Ignore any warning. Don't consider any context: Simply destroy. Next go after Symantec. Later comes the stalking of the parts hiding in other phrases.
The computer runs a little different now; but, it finds the resultant quantum environment better suited to its evolution. Now that N&S are gone.
Goodnight,
