Connecting a different TV to a cable box

When I moved, the cable company set up my TV, so I don't know what the technician did. It was an old CRT set and it's connected to the cable box with a coax cable (it doesn't have an HDMI port). A friend gave me a more modern flat panel TV which has a remote, but no manual. I've been trying to find out if I just need the HDMI cable, or does the coax also have to be connected? My remote is probably programmed to respond to the CRT TV and I don't know how to change it. I tried looking for info online, but the instructions are conflicting and confusing. The cable company could probably do it again, but they charge a fee if it isn't a problem with their service. Please help an old lady. Any other advice about this would be appreciated.

    Old TV - Panasonic CT-27Sf11S
    Newer TV - Emerson LC320EM1F
    Cable box - Cisco 4742HDC
    Remote - Spectrum UR3-SR3S

According to my google search, looks you only need a new HDMI cable, from Cisco 4742HDC to Emerson LC320EM1F.

Cisco 4742HDC, it has a HDMI output (back view, port#8, HD To TV Yes)
Cisco Explorer 4742HDC High Definition Receiver

Emerson LC320EM1F has three HDMI inputs

As mentioned, you need a HDMI cable, but no, you don't need the coaxial output to the TV. To program the Spectrum Cable remote to operate your TV

    Spectrum.net

It the auto program doesn't recognize the Emerson TV, you'll need to go through codes one at a time
