What was your first computer?

    Acorn Electron ( A kind of cut-down BBC Micro) .
    6502 CPU, built in BASIC interpreter, with assembler. And an infinity of bolt-on expansions, with lots of additional hardware added on.
    I added a hard drive, but had to write the software to actually make much use of it. Which at least forced me to learn about handling data files and arrays and such like bits of exotic coding. ( Well it was exotic to me then - early 1980s).

    I was a repair tech at Digital Equipment Corp around '96 and we referred to the PB as "Packard Hell". (We were an authorized repair facility for PB, as well as Toshiba) Anyone outside of warranty status might as well have junked their computer if it needed a M/B because the price of the boards was astronomical. And...most of the time, the issue with the PB was the M/B...

    i bought the first radio shack trs-80 to hit delaware in 1977
    32K ram with cassette player storage.
    later expanded to 64k and 2 120k diskette drives.

    Commodore 64....
    When I was lucky enough to have been given a stereo with a tape to tape recorder I discovered that you could copy the old datasette tape games on "high speed dub" lol
