Having gone for, albeit fairly short periods, without the net at home, I know it's loss would affect me, in subtle ways, I am so used to just typing so many simple queries into Google and having the answer at my fingertips, often these are not related to a computer related subject, but general questions.
The net is now virtually essential to research IT related issues

I would adapt, but a lot of un-leaning would be needed :)

Guess I'd have to go back to opening those rectangular shaped things with lots of pages in them.

I would have much more useful time on my hands and have real communication with friends rather than online.

We could always go back to using BBS's. Remember those. They were great at the time, but they seem so simple now. I spent many hours on them.

And that might not work too well any more eaither as more and more of the phone service infrastructure is being ported to the internet :)

What would you do if the internet was forever gone, could not be brought back.

I for one would just be clueless, i spend countless hours on it. Everyone depends so highly on the internet. I bet the world be in utter chaos
I would go find a life.

    Seriously.

I would trade computers/net in a heart beat for a rural life, living, working, loving the outdoors, forest, and mountains. Having lived in a semi rural, remote area and left, I looked forward to getting back to the life style.

Life would not end if my computer was removed from my life, although I think in today's life, it's almost a necessity, and makes life easier.

There's a whole world outside beyond the computer. Really there is.

I have withdrawal problems when away from the computer for more than a few hours................
