lmao.. I don't like macs either
OS X: a bloated and overpriced compilation of freeware that looks like dyslexic windows and only runs on a system that costs 4-5x the actual value of the hardware, designed to be used by people who can't program a VCR.

    Quartz.
    Disk utility.
    dd.

    'nuff said.

my last macbook fried it's hdd after 4 months because of constant overheating. so my opinion of macs is a bit skewed

    but:

quartz is based on Compiz Metacity Kwin & Xfwm plus AIGL & XGL.. all of which are entirely free

Really? did you find out why?

and thanks. I actually didn't know the origins of Quartz. I guess it's better to license somebody elses' sw than to write your own if the other person's sw is good enough that all it needs is a little tweaking.

    right..

almost everything in os-x is simply a top layer over open source sw.
I personally can't do it myself, don't know enough about programming, but I know it's possible to tweak ubuntu to the point where it is totally indistinguishable from OS-x.

I'm pretty sure there's at least one ready made for that purpose. I forget what it's called.

Tho I really have to apologise. I'm bored and I feel like arguing.

Obviously you've based your opinion on the OS X method of calculating probability :P

    Hi Ken, thanks mate :)
I'm a lover of all animals... I was having a quick look for an avatar yesterday and found that one, I think I'm going to change it to a real photo of an orphaned baby bird I'm looking after at the moment, as soon as I get a chance to edit a decent photo of him/her :)
