NSA & Windows 7 - What do you all think about this?

What does the National Security Agency have to do with Microsoft? Apparently, a lot. The NSA worked with Microsoft in its development of the Windows 7 operating software. And the relationship may stretch further back -- as far as the late 80's and previous operating systems manufactured by the company. Is this cause for concern for people who want to ensure their privacy? Is this another exmaple of Big Brother watching?

Anything we can do to disable any of their spying junk if this is indeed going on?

Yeah, switch to another operating system that provides you with all of the source code so that you can see exactly what is going on and you have complete control to change it any way you want to fit any need you may have.

Not going to lose any sleep over it; if they can find something on my system that is of importance to the security of this nation or any other nation they are welcomed to it.

If you live in the United States, you just have to live with it.

If you have something that really needs to be hidden from the Government like that, you might want to think about going to Canada.

Regardless of whether you have something to hide or not, it is morally wrong.

It's akin to me building a house and selling it - but intentionally neglecting to mention I have installed hidden cameras everywhere.

I have absolutely nothing to fear from the NSA, but that's beside the point.

I'm just sick to death of peoples personal privacy being invaded every where you go and then blatantly being lied to about it.

Especially when it comes to the legal paradox that if I were to engage in this type of behaviour, I would be considered a criminal and punished accordingly. However since they are 'sanctioned and legal', they are free to engage in this fashion without fear of repercussions.

Understanding the need and motives is one thing, accepting or condoning it is another thing entirely.

Since there's no evidence that the NSA had MS build a backdoor into Windows, I decline to get my panties in a twist over this.

MS, Apple and Linux all have worked with the NSA to harden their OS's, to make them more secure.

On the other hand, there is no evidence that the NSA hasn't had MS, Apple and Linux build in backdoors either.

Just to be safe, I, for one, welcome our new alien lizard overlords....

If you watched that video fully, they did admit to putting some kind of backdoor in the code of th Windows 7.
