    I thought this thread had been killed off?

    From the website of the US National Snow and Ice Data Center, the source of the information in the article:

    "December 2009 had the fourth-lowest average ice extent for the month since the beginning of satellite records, falling just above the extent for 2007. The linear rate of decline for December is now 3.3% per decade."

    There's the data, and there's the data after the Daily Mail have put their spin on it

    What!!!! you suggest that the DM may manipulate data for sensational stories I don't believe it.

    Now that's settled I'm off to fill up my 4x4 and run over some asylum seekers.
