That is a hard choice since my all-time favorites are:
The Thing with Kurt Russel
Clue with Tim Curry
Rocky Horror Picture Show with Tim Curry
Airplane with Robert Hayes

Too hard to pick 1 favorite. I'd have to say that "Inglourious Basterds" is my current favorite
i seem to have missed this thread first time round, so, off the top of my head without thinking too hard:
brazil - terry gilliam 1985 - funny, shocking, twisted, disturbing, surreal and still very relevant in today's terrorist times - terry's a genius, and this is his best film so far, imho.
aliens - james cameron 1986 - you want full-on action sci-fi? you got it. includes the epic 'nuke them from orbit' quote.
contact - robert zemeckis 1997 - you want intelligent geeky thinking-persons' sci-fi? you got it! includes the epic 'awful waste of space' quote.
+ matrix, true romance, u-turn, reservoir dogs, casino, empire strikes back...etc
awesome list mickey. I saw this thread too and read through and was suprised no one mentioned resevoir dogs...
All of those are awesome mickey. I really liked Brazil. True Romance is a must see as well as U-turn.
One that I didn't see listed in here is Four Rooms. A collaboration between 4 director/writers and filled with stars (also one of my fav. movies with Tim Roth).
Most recent Favorite movie is a toss up between Resident Evil 3D and Legend of the Guardians 3D
One movie, one album, one friend there all too tough but if stranded on the desert island with one movie id like:
Usual Suspects
Braveheart&Titanic.
As was said above "Contact". The ending makes you really wonder about the movie. == I am a big fan of "Meet the Parents", "Meet the Fockers" and I can't wait for the third one in the series, "Little Fockers" which is out this month.
