One movie, one album, one friend there all too tough but if stranded on the desert island with one movie id like:
    Usual Suspects
Have to agree. Watched it again over this weekend and it was as fresh as ever. Spent an hour or so arguing with a friend as to which bits needed to be true and which bits were recounted by Verbal and could therefore be false. That's a movie!
Album would be Pet Sounds, book The Magus by John Fowles.

Recent movies I have really liked would be Inglourious Basterds, Shutter Island, A Serious Man and Inception.

Last time I went to the movies was in 1964 on the Champs Elysee. They were playing Dr. Zsivago. But some of my favorites were with Louis de Funes - they were in black and white. Lots of laugh.

whs, Now Dr. Zhivago that's an epic movie and requires popcorn, milk duds and soda with an intermission or two !

I'm fairly partial to some German movies I've seen WHS and would want some of them on my island as well. Aguirre, Wrath of God by Werner Herzog is endlessly watchable I find.
Also some of Fassbinder's stuff. The Goalkeeper's Fear of The Penalty maybe. Oh and Metropolis. This is an impossible decision.
