    Or you could complain to your brother and say "I dont know whats wrong, I didn't know that something as simple as building a PC would be so difficult..." He would then be filled with nerd-self-hate and do everything in his power to redeem himself. In about three days you should have a working PC.

    If you really want to disable the computer, just flash the BIOS and midway through the flash, unplug the computer. There are few things worse than a bad flash.
